Ashby Tourist Information Centre

Ashby Tourist Information Centre has been closed by North West Leics District Council and after a sustained campaign they have now engaged in discussions with Ashby Town Council and the BID team to provide some sort of Town Information Centre.

It is to be hoped that by Christmas we should have a facility up and running although it may be run by volunteers and on a part time arrangement. We are still involved in negotiations and will keep members informed of any outcome.

Royal Hotel Current Situation

The Civic Society are monitoring the current situation with the Royal Hotel and are regularly in contact with the Ashby Town Council and NWLDC. We update our members at the monthly meetings. Please feel free to join one of our meetings. The cycle of meetings starts again in September each year.

Chris Tandy

2020 Winner Ashby Civic Award

Sadly Chris passed away in 2022, but he was an outright winner in honour of decades of voluntary service dedicated to Ashby.

Chris was a respected member of various societies and Ashby Civic Society particularly valued his essential involvement and knowledge. He will be sadly missed by all.

A display of information about the civic society is on a wall.
